Junior High Science
Updated 4/29/12
The theme for the spring is
chemistry. Topics covered include the metric system, periodic table,
elements, density, states of matter, atomic structure, compounds, acids and
bases, exothermic and endothermic reactions, writing lab reports, and much
more. The students will have assigned reading from provided supplements and/or research each week to prepare for class. Homework assignments are hands-on as often as possible. More than any other subject, science receives the greatest benefit from group interaction. As experiments are performed, new questions and ideas arise and the resolution brings benefit to the entire group. Doing science with a group of junior high students is an energizing and exciting experience!
Note: there is still the
possiblity that a junior high science class may be offered in the fall. Keep
